Hey there, it’s Mel here and welcome to your Summer of Intention. I just want to thank you for making this time for yourself and I really hope this breathing practice allows you to bring your focus to what has been, to appreciate it, be grateful for any learning it has provided and to release it to the past so that we can create more space for your future and for the possibilites and your potential.
So I invite you to close your eyes, make yourself comfortable, and just gently place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.
Just resting in yourself, your body, your breath and that feeling of knowing who you are. Breathing slowly in and out of the nose, feeling the support of each and every inhale. imagine breathing in calm and contentment and exhaling any tightness, tension or resistance, letting go and releasing more with each exhale into that feeling of grounding and support.
As you stay with your breath, move a little deeper into your heart centre. Feel your heart space, visualise it, feel your heart as it beats with that steady, reliable, rhythm. Just noticing if it feels safe and open or closed and contained, just allowing more space with every breath, to listen. What does your heart have to say? Breathing into your chest, feel the chest rise and fall with the breath, noticing that gentle expansion into your sides, the softness of your belly. Breathing into the chest, your sides, your belly, then releasing the breath, belly, sides, chest. Breathing in chest, sides, belly, then releasing the breath, belly, sides, chest.
Stay with the breath, and staying in your heart space, allow yourself to reflect on what has been. Just noticing what thoughts come to mind, how you feel and allowing any emotions that rise up. Just observing and listening to the story as it unfolds. Take as much time as you need, just breathing in, breathing out, watching, observing and listening. Visualising the people, places and experiences of this year.
Now bring your focus to what you received this year. Take a moment to appreciate every experience of receiving, the strength the challenges have given you, the wisdom, love and support from others releasing them all with the breath. Just feeling the gratitude of every experience that has been brought into your life this year.
Bring your awareness to what you gave this year. Take a moment to notice and be thankful for your own strengths, your resilience and the support that you were for those around you. Take a deep breath in and release what you’ve given without expectation of receiving anything in return. Everything has been given willingly, with love. Creating space in your heart for new experiences, new desires, new beginnings.
Take a moment to think about the seeds have you planted and how you’ve watered those seeds with your thoughts and emotions, time and energy. How can you honour those desires with what you have learnt from your experiences this year? How have they prepared you for what is to come, for the possibilities for your potential?
Bringing that awareness back to your heart space, feeling each breath noticing your heartbeat, noticing how you feel. Making a little offering to your heart, some kind words. May I be happy and loved, may I be healthy and strong, may I be filled with ease. May I be happy and loved, may I be healthy and strong, may I be filled with ease.
As you stay with your breath, move your awareness to someone you feel thankful for, visualise their face, their smile and feel that love. May you be happy and loved, may you be healthy and strong, may you be filled with ease. May you be happy and loved, may you be healthy and strong, may you be filled with ease.
Now feel that love expand to all beings, to the whole world. May everyone be happy and loved, may everyone be healthy and strong, may everyone be filled with ease. May everyone be happy and loved, may everyone be healthy and strong, may everyone be filled with ease.
Breathe spaciousness into your heart centre, no matter what the world sends your way, you always have the opportunity to come back to love. Feel free to stay in this place as long as you need. Just enjoying that stillness, that peacefulness, that sense of ease.
Thank you for having the courage to stay in that heart space. I hope you found it a beautiful breathing practice that brought you back to your heart centre and allowed you to meet yourself where you are and open your heart to new possibilities.
